Challenge
For Marakon, a top-tier management consultancy, client relationships are an integral part of its value proposition. In order to deliver high caliber effective consulting advice, Marakon identified the importance of English communication skills. With a staff of multinational consultants, Marakon asked CommuniCorp International to work with individual consultants to improve their spoken English communication skills to help them become even better skilled advisors.
Impact
CCI began working with Marakon in the Spring of 2002 to help address its specific needs by employing a systematic learning process with measurable results.
Process
- Baseline Screening Assessment - A Speech Coach measured the number of errors consultants made on given sounds to establish the baseline for improvement.
- Customized Design - The assessment also pinpointed exactly which areas of focus were most needed and enabled the CCI Speech Coach to develop a customized program for each consultant. These customized programs targeted skills ranging from accent improvement to voice projection.
Results
- Measurable Results -Within three months, Marakon consultants had improved pronunciation accuracy by at least 50%.
- Client Satisfaction - Upon completion of the program, one consultant stated, "CCI's programs were exactly what I was looking for and dramatically improved my ability to effectively communicate with our clients.
